The Gemini Mind (Mark Allen Lanoue) / The Choas behind the Mask

Trigger warning: due to the sensitive emotional information contained in this post/article, please proceed with caution: I had an unusually super charged, restless, night. A night filled with an overwhelming sensation of loneliness, fear. grief, and tears. However, I did not feel any amount of anger. Although the night was plagued with the feelings of inner chaos and a cacophony of self reflective feelings such as could I have loved more, could I have done better, could I have given more time. These, of course, are nature feelings after a devastating loss. One might think that in light of all the loss I have endured over the years, that I would be used to this. However, there is no loss greater than the love of ones life. Of course, I love God over all things. However, on this earth, I lost a part of me that can never be replaced. I am not advocating victim hood or for people to feel sorry for me. It is something that others cannot understand or fathom without that life changing experience. Behind the smile, the grin, and blank faces; there are those who conceal these sometimes devastating and chaotic feelings. That is what the video short I created is portraying. That chaos behind the mask. I hope that none of you reading this ever go through this kind of transformation. Because it is just that. And I hope this moves others to love a bit harder, and to stop and smell the roses every now and then. Love may last forever, but roses will fade with time. My beautiful rose is gone, but her love still lives in me. May we all stop and remember that we are not as singly important as we think we are in this place called life. Not that your life and your deeds are not important. It is just that the things we strive to accomplish to leave a legacy that will only last in the bounds of time, is not as important as the love, friendship, and comradery that we build around us. Every experience and person that we meet, whether good or bad, does mold us as individuals & people. Now it is what we do in light of those experiences that provides lasting change. May your days be filled with love, friendship and a good dose of laughter. Now that is something that is good for the soul. - The Gemini Mind (Mark Allen Lanoue) - You can pick up a copy of my book "Reality was once the tapestry of the Dreamer" at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. We never truly recover from this kind of loss. We just move through life, pretending we can cope, wearing the mask the world expects of us. Inside, it remains devastating. Grief doesn’t vanish with time — it reshapes us, sometimes softening, sometimes striking when we least expect it.

What you’ve written resonates deeply, because behind so many smiles there is the chaos you describe — the questions, the empty space that never fully heals. Thank you for putting words to what so many of us carry silently.
