Recognition & Awards

Over the years, The Gemini Mind, Mark Allen Lanoue has been inducted into the NASA "Space Technology Hall of Fame", won trophies for competition in the martial arts (Shotokan), medals for marching and concert band competitions and awards for his music with the band Fiction Syxx and Kick The Wicked.

It is always an honor to be recognized for the things that we do and accomplish in this place that we call life.

Recognition and Awards

The Early Years 1981-1984

In the 80's, 1981 to 1984, Mark was a member of the LBMS & LBHS marching and concert band, which was a superior award winning and nationally recognized band. He won numbers medals while a member and the band won many trophies.

Between the years 1982 & 1985, Mark studied Shotokan under the Japanese federation, fought in the All South Tournaments and won 1st in Kata form and 3rd in fighting.

NASA Years 90's-early 2000's

While with the Institute for Technology Development under the NASA program, Mark was a part of a team with Human Exploration & Development of Space, NASA Commercial Space Program, & NASA Research Centers (Moon to Mars). in 2005, he was presented a medal & inducted into the NASA "Space Technology Hall of Fame" for his part in developing technology that miniaturized hyperspectral imaging technology and systems.

Music Awards

Mark has been the recipient of numerous music awards, along with his band mates from Fiction Syxx and Kick The Wicked. Also in 2024 & 2025, Kick The Wicked won 'Best Rock Song' and 'Best Metal Performance' with their songs FireFly and Monkeys in a Jar.
